Exciting Lineup Announced For Lightweight Grand Prix At WNO 32

Published:

The first man to be announced for the bracket was Standard Jiu-Jitsu’s Deandre Corbe, who actually already holds a win over Oliveira from roughly a year ago. The two met in the semi-final of the Sapateiro World Championship 2025 and Corbe managed to edge Oliveira out in a decision win. Corbe was quickly joined by one of the most prolific competitors in the world, Canadian black belt Max Hanson. Hanson has won titles in a range of different promotions around the US and has a very high finishing-rate even when competing as often as he does. He’ll also be eager to get one back against Corbe after suffering a loss against him back in 2024.

Julian Espinosa was the third man in the bracket and much like Hanson, he also has a very high finishing-rate. The difference comes in how they achieve it though, as Espinosa is known for his crazy pace and relentless attacks. Those two men also have some history and their series currently stands at 1-1, so fand might get to see the trilogy match unfold at WNO 32. Finally, elite wrestler and guard-passer Dorian Olivarez was invited too. Olivarez is known for breaking down his opponents from top position and forcing back exposure to get the finish. Any one of these competitors could come away with the win really and whoever does will position themselves close to the very top of the lightweight rankings.
