Jake Paul admits he made one key mistake in his preparation for Anthony Joshua.
Paul suffered a broken jaw in a brutal sixth round knockout loss to Joshua in Miami on Friday.
‘The Problem Child’ was initially scheduled to tackle lightweight champion, Gervonta Davis in an exhibition last month, but the bout was cancelled after Davis was accused of hitting an ex-girlfriend in a civil lawsuit.
The 28-year-old scrambled to find a replacement and opted to face the former two-time heavyweight champion, who had a significant height and reach advantage over him.
Paul, who resides and trains in Puerto Rico, concedes he should have trained at altitude, after struggling to hold Joshua off after spending much of the fight on the back foot.
“I wish I had more than three weeks to prepare,” he said on Impaulsive.
“To maybe have put on some more muscle to sit there and hit him.
“I should have gone to altitude to train.

“That was my biggest mistake.
“I needed to have that extra level of cardio for this and that can only come from going to altitude.”
The Ohio man was down four times in total and was beaten for the first time since a split decision loss to Tommy Fury in February 2023.
‘AJ’ returned to winning ways, securing a first win since a devastating fifth round knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois last September.
The 36-year-old is expected to return in February in Riyadh, before finally meeting Tyson Fury next summer.
And the Watford man called out his career-long rival after blowing away Paul.
“I can’t wait to go into 2026,” he said to Netflix.
“If Tyson Fury is as serious as he thinks he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on his gloves, and come and fight one of the realest fighters out, there then I’ll take on the challenge.
“Step in the ring with me next if you’re a real bad boy.
“Don’t do all that talking, ‘AJ is this, AJ is that’, let’s see you in the ring and talk with your fists.”
