UFC BJJ to Be Part of Paramount’s $7.7B Seven-Year Deal, Likely Paywalled in Second Half of 2026

Published:

An interesting tip arrived at the bjjdoc mailbox earlier this month. According to the initial report Brazilian jiu-jitsu fans in Brazil will have to pay for a subscription as UFC BJJ moves to Paramount+ under a seven-year, $7.7 billion broadcasting deal UFC has with Paramount.

Initially, the change was to take effect on January 24, 2026, after UFC’s subscription service ended service in Brazil on December 31, 2025. At least one Brazilian outlet received this tip as well and alerted their fans about it.

According to the initial report the deal covers all UFC programming, with Portuguese commentary provided by the familiar production team. Paramount+ subscriptions in Brazil are R$18.90 per month, consolidating content that previously required multiple platforms. This is just under 4$.

Now Nicholas Meregali half confirmed the news. In his Connectcast interview, Meregali confirmed that UFC BJJ will be moving to Paramount+ after the first 5 events of 2026.

Meregali explained:

“It’s free on the app (Paramount+) and on youtube, too. And it’s going to be free for the next five events if I’m not mistaken”

Given that UFC BJJ executive Claudia Gadelha said the organization plans ten events in 2026, including another season of its reality series it’s likely this means the program is getting paywalled after the summer.

Global expansion is also on the agenda, with Brazil positioned as the starting point. Discussions are underway with other countries, including Abu Dhabi, for future international events.

UFC BJJ’s next major event, UFC BJJ 5, is set for February 12, featuring these matches:

Mikey Musumeci vs. Shay Montague and Ronaldo Junior vs. Tarik Hopstock. Other scheduled matches include Andy Murasaki vs. Andy Varela and Taylor Hishaw vs. Rebecca Lima.
