Tom Aspinall’s Instagram pics remind me of that scene in Fire in the Sky when Travis Walton got a needle in his eye from those Aliens that look like the mummified remains of The Golden Girls.
The UFC heavyweight champion is repairing the damage inflicted by the “disgusting fingernails” of Ciryl Gane, whose wanton eye poking ended the UFC 321 main event by way of No Contest.
Just another step in the “long road ahead.“

Over recent months we’ve been working closely with him on his recovery. Following his operation on both eyes we continue the journey to get Tom’s vision back to fighting fitness.”
A timeline for Aspinall’s return to the Octagon has yet to be determined and as of this writing, the promotion has no plans to institute another interim title.
