Pit Submission Series 13 took place on February 13th, 2026 and the promotion put together a crazy match for their latest event; Valter Walker vs Zion Clark. It was the only grappling match of the night, as the event coincided with Karate Combat 59 and the rest of the card stayed within the promotion’s normal striking ruleset. Although the promotion has featured some of the best grapplers in the world before, they decided to take a completely unique approach when putting this one together. They put one of the best leglockers in the UFC heavyweight division against a wrestler who was born without legs.
Clark was up against a significant weight disadvantage in the fight, as his sole MMA fight took place at bantamweight and Walker is a heavyweight veteran. Then although Clark has obviously undergone plenty of submission grappling training as part of his transition to MMA, he is still a lifelong wrestler first. Walker on the other hand has been submitting opponents for years now as part of his MMA career; as early as his second professional fight. He didn’t really become known for his grappling until 2024, when he started an unbelievable streak of four heel hook finishes that is still active today.
That was essentially how the match was promoted; with the idea that Walker would be without his biggest weapon in this match. In the end it didn’t actually prevent him from finishing the match though, as he was able to get around Clark and get sight of his back. From there he went for a rear-naked choke from a kneeling position and although Zion Clark tried to fight the hands, he wasn’t able to stop Valter Walker from locking it up and was forced to tap instead. It was a solid effort by Clark regardless and it’ll be interesting to see if he continues taking grappling matches in the future.
