Dustin Poirier may be retired from professional mixed martial arts (MMA), but that doesn’t mean the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight star isn’t staying busy in the gym.

In fact, Poirier is still going pretty hard on the mats at American Top Team (ATT) in Florida. Earlier this week, “Diamond” returned to the gym to train alongside UFC lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot. The two have been training partners for quite some time, but they haven’t share the mat too much since Poirier stepped away from the sport after UFC 318 back in July 2025.

On Saturday, Poirier took to social media to reveal that he ended up breaking his toe while training at ATT. “Diamond” posted the below video to X showing off his broken toe to his gym partners and fight fans everywhere. Poirier’s pinky toe was definitely messed up and he was clearly in some pain.

Check it out below:

“It hurt, but I’ll do it again,” said Poirier as he began to bend his toe to the side. “It hurt but I’m going to do it for the camera.”

Poirier, who turned 37 this past January, has been busy trying to enjoy life after UFC, which includes some performance-enhancing decisions. However, “Diamond” has vocalized his love for the sport and that he still misses it dearly. If Poirier ever had the thought of returning to action in 2026 he now has to deal with a broken toe.
