The driver of the car which injured Anthony Joshua and killed two of his close friends, has been charged, according to police.
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode was charged at a Magistrates Court in Ogun State on Friday close to the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, where the crash took place and left Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami dead and Joshua with minor injuries.
Joshua, 36, who had travelled to Nigeria after his December victory over Jake Paul, was discharged from hospital on New Years Eve.
The Lexus SUV he was travelling in collided with a stationary truck on Monday.
Kayode has reportedly received four charges – death by dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care and driving without a valid driver’s licence – according to the BBC.
The 46-year-old was granted bail 5,000,000 Naira (£2,578) and remanded in custody pending his bail requirements being met, with the case adjourned until January 20.
Tributes have been pouring in for Ayodele and Ghami, who both played an integral part in the two-time heavyweight world champion’s team.
Tyson Fury, Joshua’s long-time rival, was among those who paid their respects.

Joshua’s promotional team, Matchroom Boxing confirmed the pair’s deaths later on Monday and Matchroom Chairman, Eddie Hearn also paid a heartfelt tribute.
