The idea of a match between Musumeci and Danis only came about after Musumeci made his most recent title-defense against Shay Montague at UFC BJJ 5. Danis left a comment on social media and didn’t seem to be impressed by Musumeci’s opponent:
“[It’s] messed up you doing the guy who just dropped off my uber eats like that.”
Musumeci responded quickly and he knew exactly how to settle the score between them:
“Hey Dillon [Danis], how about we have a grappling match? You talk all this sh*t on all my posts, let’s just grapple each other. Maybe you’re physically bigger than me, but my balls are bigger than yours. Let me know if you’re down.”
