Holly Holm’s bid to win boxing title comes to an end due to accidental bloody headbutt | Video

Published:

In the seventh round, the two ladies inadvertently clashed heads, which instantly resulted in a cut right on Han’s forehead. After the ringside doctor cleaned up the wound and assessed the damage he decided it was best to put an end to the fight. Once the scores were tallied Han was declared the winner, improving her record to 12-0.

Take a look at the damage below:

As for Holm, the loss drops her to 34-3-3 and end the momentum she picked up after defeating Yolanda Vega via unanimous decision in her first fight in over a decade last June. The loss puts “The Preacher’s Daughter” at crossroads in her combat career, as fight fans now we wait to see if she decides to push forward with her boxing career.

Holm parted ways with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at the beginning of 2025, and was last seen losing to Kayla Harrison via rear-naked choke at UFC 300 back in April 2024 (see it again here). She never officially retired from mixed martial arts (MMA), so there could be a chance she decides to return to the cage with another promotion in 2026.
