Tyson Fury is looking to win one of his old belts back.
Fury announced on Sunday that he would be returning to the ring, almost a year after announcing his retirement from the sport following a second straight defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
‘The Gypsy King’ is training alongside Kevin Lerena in Thailand and teased a potential showdown with WBO heavyweight world champion, Fabio Wardley for later in 2026.
The 37-year-old won that belt when he dethroned Wladimir Klitschko to win the unified titles in 2015, but failed in his bid to regain it after losing on points to Oleksandr Usyk in their undisputed title bout in May 2024.
Wardley, who defeated Joseph Parker in October to become WBO interim titlist, was upgraded to full champion after Usyk relinquished the strap and Fury insists the Ipswich man could be an option for him.
“Big smoke for the gk after a long lay off,” he posted on Instagram.
“Could be an option later in 2026 god willing.”
Fury also teased a potential meeting with WBC interim titlist, Agit Kabayel who returns against Daniel Knyba on Saturday in Germany.
A third showdown with Usyk also seems top of his hitlist having twice been beaten on points.

Fury told media including Pro Boxing Fans in July that he would return for a trilogy with the Ukrainian, who is in talks to face ex-heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.
“If I was going to come back I’d come back for Usyk, but I want a fair result in England.
“That would be the one I’d want immediately.
“That would be the fight I’d want next.”

A highly-anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua was expected to finally take place this year after he dismantled Jake Paul in six rounds in December.
However, the Watford man was involved in a horror crash in Nigeria last month, which took the lives of two of his friends and left him injured and in hospital for two days.
Joshua returned to the UK to attend the funerals of Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami on Sunday and it remains unclear where his future stands.
