Tyson Fury admits he is willing to put his health at stake by returning to the ring.
Fury confirmed on Sunday that he will be making a comeback, almost a year after announcing his retirement.
The 37-year-old has retired on several occasions, including after his April 2022 knockout of Dillian Whyte only to return eight months later in a trilogy with Derek Chisora.
’The Gypsy King’ has denied suggestions he is returning for financial reasons and insists his motivations stem from his love for the sport.
“For me, there’s nothing else other than the fight game,” he said on an Instagram video posted on Tuesday.
“I love this fight game.
“It’s not for financial gain. I could have retired 10 years ago.
“I’ve made an absolute fortune. It’s not about the money, although I always want a good deal.
“It’s mainly about the love of the fight game and the sport.”
Fury had two epic battles with Oleksandr Usyk, the second of which sent him into retirement last January.
The Morecambe man, who is currently training in Thailand, concedes he is putting his health on the line by making a comeback in a concerning admission.
“I’m 38 this year,” he added.
“I love to fight. I have zero other interests only fighting.
“At the end of it all I’ll be punchier than a motherf***** and I’ll probably end up in a wheelchair like the rest of them all.

“Punched to death.
“Don’t know if it’s Tuesday, Wednesday or December, but it’s the game I chose.”
Fury has been linked with a host of names since revealing his intentions to return.
Former WBA ‘regular’ heavyweight champion, Mahmoud Charr called him out on Monday and Fury seemingly opened the door to a showdown with WBO titlist, Fabio Wardley.

A long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua was expected to take place this year, but following his involvement in a fatal car crash which left two of his close friends dead and injured him, the status of that bout is unknown.
