Dave Allen could be set for the toughest fight of his career.
Allen bounced back from defeat to Arslanbek Makhmudov with a first round stoppage over Karim Berredjem earlier this month.
’The White Rhino’ has teased a mouthwatering clash with former WBO interim heavyweight champion, Zhilei Zhang.
The 42-year-old hasn’t fought since a sixth round knockout loss to Agit Kabayel last February, which came eight months after he stopped former heavyweight world champion, Deontay Wilder.
“I think it’s going to be Zhilei Zhang,” Allen said to First Round TV.
“I think Zhilei Zhang and me is going to happen.
“We’ve already spoke about it.
“I’m happy to do it as well, I’m not bothered.
“I’ve never backed down from anyone in my life and I ain’t going to start with him.

“I’m here to have a go.
“All I want to do is entertain everyone and if I box Zhilei Zhang, one of two things will happen.
“I’ll get flattened for the first time or he’ll be knackered after three rounds and I’ll beat him on points.”

Despite his lack of activity, Zhang is ranked at three with the WBO behind world champion, Fabio Wardley, who defends his title against Daniel Dubois on May 9 in Manchester.
Allen had been linked with a showdown against British heavyweight champion, Jeamie TKV, although the 32-year-old is reportedly set to defend his belt against Richard Riakporhe, potentially on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.
‘The White Rhino’ admits 2026 should be his final year as a professional and is hoping to fight at least three times, culminating in a headline bout in September.
“We’re hoping to have a busy year this year,” the 33-year-old added.
“Hopefully my last year.
“I spoke to [promoter] Eddie [Hearn], hopefully going to go again soon and then [on the] Dalton Smith [undercard in] June and then headline myself [in] September.”
