Arman Tsarukyan sparks huge brawl after punching Georgio Poullas at RAF 6

Published:

Arman Tsarukyan‘s highly anticipated freestyle wrestling match against Georgio Poullas was an enjoyable contest, for as long as it lasted. However, despite the two elite grapplers canceling one another out with some otherworldly exchanges, it was the aftermath that captured headlines.

The heat between both Tsarukyan and Poullas heading into their RAF 6 co-headliner was rather mild, but the pair’s competitive nature came out as soon as the bout began. The wrestler, best known for his social media presence in which he tasks strangers to take him down for cash, was being too rough throughout the clash, pushing and slapping the annoyed UFC ace.

Arman Tsarukyan is no stranger to physicality, having spent the last seven years inside the octagon, fighting the best in the world. But his mental fortitude was put to the test on Saturday. Ahead of their meeting, Georgio Poullas announced his intention to make the RAF fight “dirty”, promising to punch Tsarukyan if things became nasty, and the unsportsmanlike conduct on display was enough to get under the Armenian’s skin.

Moments after securing the 5-3 victory, Tsarukyan could no longer contain his frustration. The 29-year-old launched his opponent to the ground and landed a flurry of strikes. Chaos ensued as members of both teams stormed the mat. The brawl was forcibly brought to an end, with former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington playing a role as one of the peacemakers.

Playing his role in igniting the altercation, Georgio Poullas has sent a message to Arman Tsarukyan following the post-fight brawl.

“I want to send a message to all my fans and supporters. I want to thank you guys,” Poullas said. “I hope you guys got some enjoyment out of the match tonight. Unfortunately, I was jumped… To Arman, you’re a little b*tch.”

“And by the way, if you guys watched the match, I’m the only one that got a takedown… I’m still the champ, baby.”
