King Green vs. Daniel Zellhuber added to weak UFC Mexico card on Feb. 28

Published:

A fun Lightweight matchup is headed to Mexico City — even if the card itself leaves plenty to be desired.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran King Green is set to face struggling prospect Daniel Zellhuber at UFC Mexico on Sat., Feb. 28, 2026, inside Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. The promotion announced the bout this weekend.

Green (14-12-1-1) endured a brutal start to 2025, suffering one of the year’s most violent knockouts when Mauricio Ruffy put him to sleep with a spinning wheel kick (watch highlights). After a nine-month layoff, the longtime UFC staple rebounded with a unanimous decision victory over newcomer Lance Gibson Jr. at UFC Vegas 112, snapping a two-fight skid.

Now 39 years old, Green is 4-3 over his last seven appearances and continues to serve as a reliable litmus test for up-and-coming Lightweights.

Zellhuber (15-3), meanwhile, may be entering must-win territory. The 26-year-old Mexican prospect is riding a two-fight losing streak, though one of those defeats came in a Fight of the Year contender against Esteban Ribovics at UFC 306.

His most recent outing, however, raised red flags. At UFC 318, Zellhuber dropped a unanimous decision to veteran Michael Johnson in a matchup widely viewed as tailor-made for him to win.

Zellhuber currently sits at 3-3 inside the Octagon and will be looking to right the ship in front of his home-country crowd.
