Heavyweight reacts to rumours he may be fighting Tyson Fury

Knockout artist Arslanbek Makhmudov has responded to the rumours he may be facing Tyson Fury next.

After over a year out of the ring Fury has announced a return and named Makhmudov as a potential opponent.

‘The Lion’ was last in action in October where he picked up a win that really boosted his name to many that may not have been aware of him to that point.

He has now been named as potential opponent for two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury’s comeback fight.

Makhmudov spoke to Boxing King Media over the potential fight.

“I hear nothing just I see some time people talking, I think it’s just like people talking, but of course, if you ask me, of course, I want this fight.

“Which is for me a dream fight because Tyson Fury is one of the best heavyweights in history I think, for me.

“It’s a pleasure to fight against big names like Tyson Fury.”

Ahead of the Allen fight Makhmudov claimed that he was in fact targeting a fight with Anthony Joshua should he come through ‘The White Rhino’.

Makhmudov spoke to Pro Boxing Fans.

“I don’t know we will see [On who he would fight after the Allen win.]

“I’d like to fight with [Anthony] Joshua.”

It appears Makhmudov would be keen on a Fury fight nonetheless.

Makhmudov has some an impressive knockout record of 91% with wins over Maruisz Wach, Carlos Takam and more.

He has only been beaten twice with his first loss coming in a fight with now-WBC interim world champion Agit Kabayel.

Kabayel outclassed ‘The Lion’ in a fight the Russian was expected to win.

The German has gone on to prove how skilled he is after the Makhmudov win with stoppage victories over Frank Sanchez, Zhilei Zhang and Damian Knyba last weekend.

The Russian lost for a second time against Guido Vianello where the referee was forced to step in due to a brutal cut to the Russian.

Despite losing in his career Makhmudov would definitely pose a threat to ‘The Gypsy King’ especially after a year outside of the sport.
