Amir Khan wants Manny Pacquiao vs Conor Benn next

Published:

Amir Khan has revealed who he wants to see Conor Benn fight in is next fight.

Benn was last in action in November and Khan wants to see him fight a legend of the sport.

In his last outing, Benn rewrote the wrongs of his loss to long-term rival Chris Eubank Jr in April.

He outclassed Eubank Jr over 12 rounds.

Both fights with Eubank Jr were at middleweight a weight Benn had never competed at prior.

Many saw Benn win every single round of the fight with Eubank offering very little throughout.

As soon as the final bell rang, ‘The Destroyer’ confirmed he intended to go back down to a more natural welterweight division.

He has since been made number one contender for the WBC welterweight world title.

Benn has confirmed he will be looking to face the winner of Mario Barrios vs Ryan Garcia next.

Khan spoke to Betway Blog and revealed who he thinks Benn should face next.

“It would be a fantastic fight for him against Manny Pacquiao.

“That’d be huge in the UK — people would be buzzing to see Pacquiao vs Benn.

“He’s such a big name around the world, so we would love to see him fight here.”

Pacquiao also made his return to the ring last year when he took on WBC welterweight world champion, Barrios.

They drew over 12 rounds with Pacquiao showing he can still compete at the very highest level.

Khan revealed why he thinks Benn vs Pacquiao would be such a good fight.

“They are both powerful, strong, and I want to see it.

“Manny is older now, and he is not like his old self and won’t be as sharp or as hard as he once was.

“These young up-and-coming fighters should up their game a little bit more and take the risk, take the big names and try to win against the biggest names out there.”

‘Pac Man’ originally seemed set to face Rolando Romero for his world title.

Romero is coming off a shock win over Ryan Garcia.

That fight now seems dead in the water so a fight with Benn may now be possible.

Another name ’The Destroyer’ continues to be paired with is Shakur Stevenson with the two often exchanging words on social media.
