Dave Allen has revealed who he will face on the Leigh Wood vs Josh Warrington undercard.

Allen was last in action on 11th October in Sheffield.

‘The White Rhino’ confirmed he will be back in action on 21st February in Nottingham.

On an Instagram story shared on Wednesday, Allen spoke on who he will be fighting and provided details on the bout.

“I am having an eight-round fight.

“It has not been officially confirmed yet but I am boxing a French guy called Karim Berredjem.

“He has won 12 and lost 10.

“He is a big tough fella but I should be beating him.

“He is not a world beater but he is not a journeyman either so it is about what I wanted to be honest.”

Berredjem is coming off a unanimous decision win over six rounds against Erik Nazaryan in France.

In his last fight, ‘The White Rhino’ headlined Sheffield Arena for the first time in his career where he fought in front of over 12,000 fans.

He took on Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov.

‘The Lion’ outpointed Allen over 10 rounds and may now be in line to face Tyson Fury in his comeback fight.

Allen went on to explain the consequences of what losing to Berredjem would mean.

“If I don’t beat him then it is the end [of my career].”

Allen had real momentum going into the Makhmudov fight, having just knocked out Matchroom prospect Johnny Fisher in London and will look to rekindle some of that form with a win over the Frenchman.

“I should beat him and he should give me some rounds as well.

“I hope to go a few rounds and I hope to knock him out.

“I am sure he is a nice guy like and I don’t want to hurt him but would like to stop him yeah definitely.”

It will be the first time Allen has boxed in four months and he will hope to pick up a statement win to line up another headline show at some point in the year.

“I have told you all do not expect anything amazing because it’s a comeback fight.”

Allen vs Berredjem is set to be formally announced in the coming days.
