Stevenson is moving up in weight as the current WBC lightweight champion to take part in one of the best fights possible for American boxing. Ahead of this fascinating world title fight live on DAZN Pay-Per-View, former light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver has spoken to Fight Hub TV, breaking down the fight.

Antonio Tarver analyses Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson

Breaking down Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs), Tarver said:

“I think that’s the only chance he’s got, is to really be his ultra self, you know, doing all the things that make him Teofimo Lopez.

“The footwork could be a major advantage for him. Being able to get inside. A lot of times, he fights free. He don’t really have a style. He does what it takes. He’s a gutsy fighter. Real gutsy. He’s not gonna be leery to take chances.

“He’s a gambler in there. He’s a live underdog, I would say. A live underdog, but if he’s to win this fight, I think he has to probably stop Shakur Stevenson. He’s gonna have to hit him with something, and let’s hope Shakur’s hands hold up. I still believe if he’s in a fisticuff, and he has to slug it out, those brutal hands are gonna have to hold up if he wants to put a dent in Teofimo Lopez,” said Tarver.
