Super welterweight has changed a lot since Jermell Charlo was its undisputed champion.
Sebastian Fundora, Xander Zayas, Abass Baraou, and Bakhram Murtazaliev all hold major titles in the division. Oshae Jones and Mikaela Mayer are titleholders over on the women’s side. While the past has seen a number of excellent fights at 154 lbs, the future also looks promising. Aside from the world champions, there are also a number of promising contenders who should be able to take the division to new heights.

Brandon Adams
Brandon Adams (26-4, 16 KOs) breathed new life into his career by defeating Serhii Bohachuk in their rematch last year. He now finds himself in a final eliminator for the IBF world title against Caoimhin Agyarko. Despite being 36, Adams continues to show an ability to compete with talented fighters at 154 lbs. Victory over Agyarko could get him his first world title shot at super welterweight.
Grant Flores
Grant Flores (12-0, 9 KOs) has remained active since making his professional boxing debut in 2023. He had five fights in 2025, a year in which he also moved from six to eight-rounders. Just 21 years old, he is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions.
Alex Bray
Alex Bray (10-0, 8 KOs) is the youngest boxer on this list at 19 years of age. His professional career has already seen him fight in the United States, Canada, Panama, and Colombia. Bray’s next fight is scheduled to take place in February and will be a 10-rounder against an opponent to be determined.
Omari Jones
Omari Jones (4-0, 4 KOs) was the only American to medal at the Paris Olympics. He turned professional in 2025 with Matchroom Boxing and his first fight of 2026 will be on the undercard of Raymond Muratalla vs. Andy Cruz. This year should see him continue his development and take his career to the next level.
