Two venues in play for Derek Chisora vs Deontay Wilder

The Derek Chisora-Deontay Wilder fight now has a promoter and two potential venues.

Chisora and Wilder are close to finalising a deal to meet in April.

proboxing-fans.com has confirmed a report by EverythingBoxing that the bout will be promoted by Kalle and Nisse Sauerland’s Wasserman Boxing.

The heavyweight showdown is not yet over the line, but should it get finalised, the O2 Arena and the SSE Arena, Wembley are the targeted venues, a source with knowledge of the plans told proboxing-fans.com.

Chisora said on talkSPORT on Thursday that he hoped for the bout to land at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which staged both fights between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn last year as well as his third clash with Tyson Fury in December 2022.

However, the 62,000-seater stadium is not being considered to host the fight, a source told proboxing-fans.com.

Wilder, the former WBC heavyweight world champion, was expected to challenge unified titlist, Oleksandr Usyk later this year.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ though has opted to tackle the 42-year-old Brit, who claims this will be the final fight of his career.

According to Mail Sport, the bout will land on Sky Sports Box Office.

Sky Sports have not aired any boxing since their exclusive deal with Ben Shalom’s BOXXER ended in June.

Should the pair come to an agreement, Chisora believes he will stop the American, who has won one of his last three bouts.

“For him to win this fight he has to knock me out,” Chisora told talkSPORT.

“If he can’t do that, in round 10 or 12, I’m going to eat him up.

“That’s how I train.

“I just finished sparring right now and I ate the guys up and I haven’t sparred for almost six months.

“I like to fight. I like pain. I like everything.

“If the fight does happen, he’s going to get laid out.”
