A fighter collapsed after stepping off the scales at the UFC 324 weigh-ins on Friday in Las Vegas.
Bantamweight Cameron Smotherman was scheduled to take on Ricky Turcios on the preliminary fight card. He successfully weighed in at 135.5 pounds. After making weight, Smotherman stepped off the scaled, took a couple of steps and collapsed face-first on the stage with his head bouncing off the ground.
Medical personal tended to the fighter in a scary scene. His match with ?Turcios was canceled and Smotherman was transported to the hospital.
UFC 324 takes place on Jan. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is headlined by an interim lightweight title bout between former interim titleholder Justin Gaethje and No. 5 ranked Paddy Pimblett. It will be the first UFC broadcast under the new media rights agreement with Paramount.
