BJJ Connection Morocco Returns For Exciting 4th Edition In 2026

Published:

Although the camp is an opportunity to learn from some of the best grapplers in the world, it’s also a relaxed and laid-back experience. It combines the instruction and open mat rolling time with regular surfing and enjoying the unique coastal location and incredible local food available in Imsouane. It’s truly a rare opportunity to escape from the busy life in major cities and enjoy being in the ocean, while still being able to develop your Jiu-Jitsu skills. There’s 4 structured no gi training sessions and 2 lengthy open mats over the course of the week, with each class being taught in the open air on the beach if weather permits.

The classes this year will be taught by either Faris Ben-Lamkadem and PJ Barch, both of whom are known as excellent competitors and instructors. Ben-Lamkadem is returning after being the sole instructor of their camp last year in Marrakech and it was a huge success, but it should be even better this year with Barch joining in. Ben-Lamkadem is an IBJJF no gi world champion and he famously coached the European team at CJI 2, while Barch is one of the top competitors in his weight class with a top-four finish on his first attempt at ADCC 2022 and a bronze medal at ADCC 2024.

The sessions will be focused on improving the core positions used in Jiu-Jitsu, taking a concept-based approach and then applying those concepts in training. Although the training environment is always high-level at the Surf ‘N’ Roll camp, it’s not a competitive one. Instead the focus is on technical improvement above all else, and making the most of the time off the mats by integrating surfing as part of the experience. BJJ Connection Morocco has also arranged 4 guided surf sessions under the guidance of champion-level coaching. These sessions are suitable for all levels and they’re used as active recovery throughout the week.

It isn’t all about the physical aspects of Jiu-Jitsu and surfing though, Imsouane also holds a ton of cultural interests too. There’s sand surfing across the dunes and a picturesque local area to explore; and the small group setting of the training camp helps everyone connect. There’s also a ton of authentic Moroccan cuisine available, as every camp ticket also includes half-board as standard. The Surf ‘N’ Roll camp is the perfect blend of lifestyle experience and elite Jiu-Jitsu instruction with everything you need in one location. Tickets are on sale now, click here to find out more.
