Daniel Dubois keen on Tyson Fury and Fabio Wardley fights

Published:

Daniel Dubois has revealed some names that he is keen on fighting in his return to boxing with both Tyson Fury and Fabio Wardley a possibility.

Dubois was last in action in July last year, where he was stopped in the fifth round in London against Oleksandr Usyk and eyes Fury or Wardley as his path back to a world title.

He faced Usyk to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion.

Since falling short, he has left his set-up with Don Charles for Tony Sims.

Sims spoke to IFLTV on the switch.

“He is doing really well is Daniel.

“He is blending in really well.

“We just want a fight date now.

“We are really excited you know he is still really young.

“He is only 28, he is still a youngster.

“I just want to see him get in the ring and get back in the frame.”

Dubois was asked if he would be interested in fighting Queensberry stablemate, Wardley in the near future.

Wardley currently holds the WBO heavyweight world title.

He became interim champion following his October win over Joseph Parker and was upgraded to full world champion in December.

“If they want it, then yeah bring it on I cannot wait.

“If Frank makes that fight, then I will be delighted, I will jump at that opportunity.”

Dubois is a former IBF world champion and revealed becoming a two-time heavyweight champion is his primary mission for the year.

He became IBF world champion in September, 2024 when he knocked out Anthony Joshua in a career-best showing.

“2026 is get that title back.

“You only get out what you put in.

“I have not even hit my prime yet, I just need to get a few things right and I will be lethal.”

Another name Dubois showed interest in fighting was Tyson Fury.

Fury has been retired for over 13 months now, but has revealed he aims to make a return in April.

He was last in the ring against two-time undisputed world champion Usyk where he was on the wrong side of successive decision losses.

“Tyson Fury, whoever.

“Yeah definitely, all of the big names yeah.

“I have fought them all.

“I just want to fight all the big names in 2026.”
