UFC CEO and Zuffa Boxing bigwig, Dana White, stole Conor Benn from Eddie Hearn, though you could argue Benn did all the stealing with his $15 million price tag.
White’s victory lap, which stepped on a few toes over on the UFC side of things, was cut short this week after Hearn announced the signing of UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who joins Matchroom Talent Agency.
He won’t be boxing for Hearn — at least not yet.
That’s because Aspinall remains under contract with UFC, assuming this wild rumor doesn’t come to fruition. What happens after the still-injured Brit finishes up his remaining fights remains to be seen, but it sounds like Aspinall got a little revenge of his own after White made these disparaging comments relating to UFC 321.
Aspinall is expected to release a full statement later tonight on his official YouTube channel. As for White, he’ll likely comment during the upcoming UFC 326 press conference in Las Vegas.
Stay tuned.
