Deontay Wilder is making the mandatory media rounds to promote his upcoming fight against Derek Chisora, scheduled for Sat., April 4, 2026 at The O2 Arena in London. One of those stops included talkBOXING with host Simon Jordan. Wilder made it clear that he did not want to talk about past opponent, Tyson Fury, following comments that “Gypsy King” thwarted him by way of white supremacy.
Jordan ignored that directive and not surprisingly, Wilder had a meltdown.
Here’s the isolated clip (full video embedded above):
Poison walked so that white supremacy could run.
“I need this fight. I need Derek more than he needs me,” Wilder told reporters during a recent press conference (via ESPN). “I need to see where I am. I been broken down and rebuilt again. This is definitely a must-win for me. Not only a win, I need a devastating win, a knockout. That’s what we come to see. We got two beautiful heavyweights up there. You don’t know what to expect. He throws everything in the kitchen sink. You can have the toaster, the blender, everything else. He hits you in places you don’t want to be hit and he don’t care. I told Derek I want you to try and kill me. Because I need that and that’s what he’s going to do. It’s a special moment.”
Wilder has definitely been acting special over the last few years.
The 40 year-old “Bronze Bomber” (44-4-1, 43 KOs) returned to the win column by knocking around Tyrrell Anthony Herndon last summer in Wichita. As for Chisora, 42, he’s coming off three straight wins, having defeated Otto Wallin last year in Manchester to improve to 36-13 with 23 KOs.
