Melquizael Costa may have stolen Dan Ige’s bid for a $100K post-fight bonus award last night (Sat., Feb. 21, 2026) at UFC Houston LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Toyota Center in Houston, Tex., stopping “100 Grand Dan” with a ridiculous first-round TKO (spinning back kick and punches).
Costa brought a five-fight win streak into Saturday’s main card affair and for that he was a solid betting favorite to take care of business. However, Ige is one of the toughest outs in the UFC’s talent-rich featherweight division. In fact, Ige had never been finished in his entire MMA career entering UFC Houston and pound-for-pound has one of the best chins on the roster.
The first round was a solid back-and-forth affair and as many expected the fight looked like it was bound for three rounds. Out of nowhere, Costa unleashed a gnarly spinning back kick that landed flush to Ige’s head. Ige toppled backwards onto the canvas holding his face. Costa moved in for a few insurance shots, but the highlight-reel knockout was already locked up.
