The way Paddy Pimblett has been eating these last few weeks, it‘s almost like he took this advice from lightweight rival Arman Tsarukyan.
Pimblett absorbed a frightening amount of damage in his UFC 324 loss to Justin Gaethje earlier this year in Las Vegas and appears to be self medicating with a never-ending supply of pancakes. Not surprisingly, “The Baddy” has already ballooned up to 190 pounds.
I guess anything under 200 is a win, all things considered.
“I weighed myself this morning, I was only 86kgs (190 pounds),” Pimblett said on his video blog. “F*cking sound for me. I’ve been at like 90 something at this stage before. I’ve been eating well. I know the (video) title says I got fat again but I’m not that fat. I’m actually alright. Like 86 kilos, which is sound. I’m doing all right. I’m not like America fat where I’m like 94, 95 kilos (210 pounds). We’re doing good. We’re doing alright.”
Just don’t tell UFC CEO Dana White.
Pimblett, 31, has a well-documented history of weight gain, which may or may not be considered an eating disorder. To his credit, “The Baddy” always shows up on weight and delivers an action-packed fight, so it’s hard to be critical of his strategy — despite the potential for longterm health problems.
No word yet on when Pimblett will make his return to the cage, but late 2026 seems plausible.
