Islam Makhachev vs. Ilia Topuria ‘definitely won’t happen’ at UFC White House, Michael Morales responds

Newly-crowned UFC welterweight champion, Islam Makhachev, is “ready” to fight current lightweight titleholder, Ilia Topuria, atop the upcoming White House card in June.

Sadly, UFC is not interested.

“Yes, I think it definitely won’t happen at the White House, because he already has an opponent, and the UFC is not interested in this,” Makhachev told Ushatayka. “We’re still discussing an approximate date for my fight. Even it’s not at the White House, it’ll be around that time. I’m not ruling out the White House option either. As of today, that’s the most likely scenario.”

Topuria is expected to unify the lightweight titles opposite Justin Gaethje.

“And my eyes on gold,” Morales wrote on Instagram. “Sign it, champion Islam Makhachev.”

Decisions, decisions.
