Jake Paul underwent surgery for broken jaw after Anthony Joshua KO loss

Published:

Jake Paul had a rough night at the office at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday. The influencer-turned-boxer took on Olympic gold medalist and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and suffered the first knockout loss of his career.

The end came at the midway mark of the sixth round. Joshua had stalked Paul the entire fight while Paul constantly stayed moving on the outside. Joshua trapped Paul in the corner and unloaded a right hand that sent “The Problem Child” to the canvas with a broken jaw and unable to answer the count.

During his post-fight interview, Paul revealed that he thought his jaw was broken. That was later confirmed and the 28 year-old underwent surgery to repair the damage. Teeth were removed and titanium plates inserted.

The extent of the damage required two titanium plates. He also reportedly had seven teeth removed, but the surgery ‘went well.’

“Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support. 2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days so,” Paul wrote on Instagram
