Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua – Results & Post-Fight Report

Published:

The much-hyped showdown between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua lasted longer than most expected, but the size and experience gap was evident from the opening bell. Still, Paul began the fight with confidence, edging the opening round and signalling his intent to prove he could genuinely compete at Joshua’s level.

Joshua boxed conservatively in the opening rounds, using a stiff jab and subtle footwork to control distance. Paul had moments of success when he pressed forward aggressively, throwing wide power shots that drew crowd reactions, but Joshua’s defence and timing consistently blunted any sustained offence. By the third round, Joshua began sitting down on his punches, landing clean right hands that visibly slowed Paul.

The middle rounds saw Anthony Joshua fully assert control. His punch selection became more varied, mixing thudding body shots with sharp combinations upstairs. Jake Paul showed toughness and determination, continuing to push forward despite absorbing heavy shots, but his output dropped as fatigue set in and he began voluntarily taking a knee under pressure. Joshua’s composure never wavered, and he consistently capitalized on Paul’s defensive lapses.

The fight reached its conclusion shortly thereafter, with Joshua forcing a stoppage following a sustained spell of pressure that saw Paul suffer three knockdowns before the bout was waved off. The result reaffirmed Joshua’s elite pedigree and experience at the highest level, while Paul earned credit for stepping into unfamiliar and dangerous territory against a proven heavyweight.

Baumgardner battles past Beaudoin

Alicia Baumgardner retained her unified IBF, WBO and WBA super featherweight titles, but had to rally to overcome Leila Beaudoin.

Baumgardner, who vacated her WBC title shortly after her July win over Jennifer Miranda, floored Beaudoin right on the bell in round seven.

However, the Canadian challenger staged a late fight back and hurt Baumgardner in the 11th round.

The pair traded until the final bell, however ‘The Bomb’ had done more than enough to retain her titles and ran out the winner by two scores of 117-110 and another at 118-109.

Silva stops Woodley

Anderson Silva wiped out fellow ex-UFC world champion, Tyron Woodley in the second round of their cruiserweight clash.

An uppercut from Silva scrambled Woodley from his senses and a follow-up combination had him on the deck.

‘The Chosen One’ bravely rose to his feet, but referee waved it off.

Harvey eases past Cervantes

Jamal Harvey impressed in his second professional bout, scoring a knockdown on route to a points win over Kevin Cervantes.

Harvey floored Cervantes in the opening round and eased to a victory on the scorecards over six rounds.
