Anthony Joshua came within inches of death in a fatal car crash which killed two of his friends in Nigeria last month.
Joshua was in a Lexus SUV which smashed into a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on December 29.
The 36-year-old escaped with minor injuries, but spent two days recovering in hospital.
Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami – two of Joshua’s close friends – died at the scene.
‘AJ’ was seen distressed and in pain as he was helped out of the car.
The Brit was sat in the back seat of the car behind the driver on the left hand side, while Ayodele and Ghami were sat on the right hand side of the SUV – where the impact took place – next to the driver and Joshua respectively.
The driver of the car, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has received four charges – driving without a valid driver’s licence, death by dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving and driving without due care
According to Kayode’s lawyer, Joshua narrowly escaped death after being asked to swap seats by the driver.

“I also understand that the journey started in Lagos and that initially Anthony had got into the front seat but the driver asked him to swap seats,” Olalekan Abiodun told The Daily Mail.
“He did this because Anthony is a big fellow and he couldn’t see the wing mirror properly so he asked him to move and he sat behind the driver.
“From what I understand Latif was in front and then changed seats with Anthony.”

Joshua attended the funerals of Ayodele and Ghami on Sunday after travelling back to the UK.
The fatal crash came 10 days after his sixth round knockout of Jake Paul in Miami on his return to the ring after almost 15 months out.
Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions paid tribute to the pair, with their names emblazoned on the ring canvas during their show in Puerto Rico on Saturday.
