“King” wants some “Iron.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight veteran King Green delivered a statement win at UFC Mexico City last night (Sat., Feb. 28, 2026), knocking out Daniel Zellhuber in the ‘featured bout’ inside Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico (watch highlights).

It was a massive upset win for Green as he was a +315 betting underdog.

Inside the Octagon, former champion Michael Bisping asked Green who he wanted next. Instead of naming a contender, Green pivoted and asked the UFC to bring back his longtime friend Nate Diaz for a retirement fight.

But backstage? Different energy.

When speaking with Paramount+ behind the scenes, Green had a specific opponent in mind: Michael Chandler.

“I don’t really call people out, but if I were going to call someone out, I would say Michael Chandler and in the White House,” Green said. “Two great Americans — American badasses. Let’s do some shit like that.”

Honestly, that matchup wasn’t exactly on anyone’s radar — but now that it’s out there, it’s kind of compelling.

Green is riding a two-fight win streak after a rough stretch that saw him submitted by Paddy Pimblett and knocked out by Mauricio Ruffy (watch highlights). The Zellhuber finish feels like a reset at 39 years old.

As for Chandler, he’s dropped three straight fights — two by stoppage — and has repeatedly stated he wants a spot on the historic UFC White House card. With the long-discussed Conor McGregor fight officially off the table after Chandler waited nearly a year, he may need a fresh dance partner.

Green vs. Chandler?
Two veterans. Big personalities. Sign me up.
