Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker were supposed to be mates, but that all went out the window on Friday when the two lightweights went after one another on social media.
Back in November, Pimblett and Hooker crossed paths for the first time at UFC Qatar’s ceremonial weigh ins. Instead of posturing and talking trash, the two lightweight contenders joked with one another and seemed to hit it off. Even if Hooker hates everyone ranked in front of him the two left Qatar on good terms.
Unfortunately, their cordial relationship went up in flames on Friday.
It all stemmed from a “joke” Pimblett made about Hooker’s grappling during an interview with MMA Guru on Thursday. Pimblett, who is one of the best grapplers at 155 pounds (despite recently getting tapped out), doesn’t believe Hooker has anything to offer on the ground. Instead of just commenting on his skills “Baddy” went as far as saying Hooker “couldn’t grapple a rap—t off his mom.”

Of course, that didn’t sit well with Hooker. Early Friday, “Hangman” responded by letting Pimblett know that it’s “on site” when he sees him next. For you old folks out there, that means Hooker is promising to fight Pimblett next time they run into each other. Sadly, Hooker took things one step further by brining up Pimblett’s friend, Ricky, who committed suicide.
