Lying Jon Jones ‘knew what he was doing,’ leaked arthritis to planted influencer to control UFC narrative

Former UFC two-division champion, Daniel Cormier, is calling B.S. on the (cough) “leaked” video from the sneaky influencer (and his Meta glasses) who snitched on longtime rival, Jon Jones.

Jones recently revealed a battle with arthritis, the main reason he won’t accept a Real American Freestyle (RAF) wrestling match against Cormier. According to Jones, that “private conversation” was recorded and posted online without his consent, leading to questions about his eligibility for UFC White House.

Which was never great to begin with.

“Jon said the kid filmed him without his knowledge,” Cormier said on YouTube channel. “The moment they start recording, they press this button, there’s a white light on the side of these [Meta] glasses that tells you they’re recording. How could he have missed that? Now, I saw the video. It looked like he kind of glanced at the kid, spoke to the kid, maybe he missed it, giving him the benefit of the doubt, but to be honest, it’s hard not to know that you’re on video. So, I believe that information like that, that if it’s that close to the vest, you don’t share it with some random [person] either.”

Jones (28-1, 1 NC) turns 39 in July and has 30 professional fights to his credit.

“I don’t know that everything he does isn’t intended to be taken in the way that it’s taken,” Cormier said. “It feels like everything he does has a purpose. So, I don’t believe it, and I don’t think you should, because I don’t think that he was unaware of the video. I think that Jon Jones knew what he was doing. I think that he wanted people to know that he’s injured, and I think that’s exactly the way that he wanted it to happen, by giving it to an influencer. Then that influencer put it on the internet, and then he could feign ignorance and go, ‘Oh my god, I got caught.’ Not true.”

UFC is good at producing unfixable liars.

After jerking around Tom Aspinall for the better part of 2025, the currently-retired Jones recently admitted he “could be done” with combat sports and probably won’t return to the Octagon unless the promotion offers him the top spot at UFC White House in June, presumably against this fearsome champion.
