Merab Dvalishvili slaps Mark Zuckerberg during physical three-round sparring session | VIDEO

Published:

The Meta CEO has become a prominent figure in the MMA space over recent years and enjoys attending UFC events when his busy schedule allows. Aged 41, he is continually trying to improve his skills on the mat by surrounding himself with higher-level talent, with hopes of advancing beyond his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt.

Mark Zuckerberg has spent time training with several UFC fighters and is no stranger to hard work when it comes to the fight game. However, he may have bitten off more than he can chew when he attended a three-round sparring session with former UFC bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili.

Unlike other celebrity sparring sessions that often surface online, Zuckerberg endured a tough three rounds with Dvalishvili. While the Georgian, of course, wasn’t trying to flatline his opponent in the cage, he did land some heavy shots and engaged in some entertaining grappling scrambles.

The brawl was mostly controlled, aside from one moment that became slightly heated during their friendly exchange. After Mark Zuckerberg fired a few shots, forcing Merab Dvalishvili to posture up against the cage, he landed a takedown on the UFC star.

Though smiling through it, Dvalishvili seemingly didn’t like the takedown. He then transitioned back to his feet and landed a big slap on Zuckerberg, drawing laughs from Aljamain Sterling and those in attendance.

Mark Zuckerberg gave an incredibly good account of himself and didn’t look too out of place in the cage.

Despite being worth over $200 billion, the American businessman has expressed an ongoing interest in making his professional debut in the sport in the near future.

Ahead of any potential MMA fight, it won’t harm Zuckerberg to keep honing his skills by training with UFC-level talent as he’s done over the past few years.
