Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather‘s highly-anticipated boxing bout has been given a date and location.
Both Tyson and Mayweather’s time in the exhibition boxing scene following their retirements from the professional side are far from finished. While success isn’t a key factor in their meetings in the ring with social media influencers, the financial aspect of the fight plays a significant role in the combat sports legends participation.
That once again seems to be the case for when Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather rolls around next year. Despite the clear height and weight discrepancy between them, the boxing legends have agreed to collide in the ring.
There are many valid reasons for fans skepticism. Since the fight announcement, countless fans online have insisted that the bout won’t go ahead.
Amid the doubt, Mike Tyson confirmed the fight’s legitimacy.
“I thought, ‘No way this happens.” But Floyd said yes,” Tyson stated on the making of his upcoming fight against Mayweather.
“This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable — and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
Alongside the previously mentioned financial gain, Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather’s dislike for one another is a reason for the fight going ahead.
Their heat played a role in making the clash happen, but Tyson isn’t fond of Mayweather’s choice to fight him.
“I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening.”
Speaking during a recent interview, the date and location is all set for what is going to be one of the biggest, most intriguing fights inside the squared circle of this generation.
Will Mayweather be too quick on the feet and cruise his way to a decision victory or will Tyson land one of his signature knockout shots to put a dent in his opponents stardom?
The answer to these questions and many more will be revealed when the pair meet next year.
“It’s gonna be in March, and it’s gonna be in Africa,” Tyson said as he shared details about his upcoming brawl with Floyd Mayweather.
“This is going to be incredible. We’re going to break all the records. It’s going to be one of the biggest events in the history of the sport.”

With exhibition boxings rise, the consensus is that Tyson and Mayweather will rake in unimaginable viewing numbers.
Proof from his fight against Jake Paul, the 59-year-old remains a pay-per-view superstar and is able to get countless fans to tune in when he competes.
To add to the occasion, Floyd Mayweather will be the man opposing Mike Tyson. Mayweather is one of very few boxers to arguably contend with—or even surpass—Tyson in the fame and legacy departments.

However, fame and past achievements can’t win you fights once the bell for the first round sounds. Though, as he often is, Mayweather is extremely confident in putting on a show against his titan of an opponent.
“I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said in response to the fight news.
“You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary.”
Mayweather is no stranger to big events. The undefeated professional boxer was key to the boxing/UFC crossover phenomenon that has been sweeping the octagon for almost 10 years.
With a March 2026 date and a location in Africa reportedly set, will we see Floyd Mayweather weather the Mike Tyson storm or will the powerhouse claim another victim,
“I’m the best in the business of boxing,” Mayweather continued. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
