Mike Tyson sends chilling warning to Anthony Joshua ahead of Jake Paul fight

Published:

As the fight draws near, the world expects Anthony Joshua to make quick work of Jake Paul. While a big performance is expected of the former boxing world heavyweight champion, he must be aware of the serious threat his opponent poses, claims Mike Tyson.

At the ripe old age of 58, Tyson made a highly anticipated return to boxing after almost 20 years away from the professional side of the sport. The powerhouse faced the much younger, much hungrier Paul, and believes the influencer needs to be respected more in one area of the fight game.

Love him or hate him, Jake Paul has a natural ability to drive up interest in his fights. The YouTube star has only been truly competing for less than six years and is already among the most talked-about boxers in the world.

Alongside Mike Tyson, the 28-year-old managed to break unimaginable records in viewership and live gate. Despite the bout not living up to expectations, Paul did leave a lasting effect on Tyson.

“My body, my chest, stomach and stuff was really sore,” Tyson said in the aftermath of his fight with Jake Paul.

Though many question the legitimacy of some of his outings in the ring, Jake Paul has proved his power.

‘The Problem Child’ holds knockouts over several high-profile names in the combat sports world. Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, former Bellator and ONE champion Ben Askren, and former Golden Gloves champion and National Junior Olympian Ryan Bourland all suffered the same fate against the social media presence.

While Mike Tyson wasn’t one of the large portion of victims to get knocked out by Paul, he did feel his power.

“Jake punches hard,” Tyson continued. “My body hurt so bad.”

While the consensus still believes Anthony Joshua should walk away unscathed, Jake Paul will always have a puncher’s chance with the power he possesses.
