Mike Tyson vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. exhibition bout set for April

Published:

The exhibition boxing match between legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a location and a date. In December, Tyson stated that the bout would take place in March in Africa. Instead of March, the two will collide on April 25 in Democratic Republic of Congo.

Ring Magazine‘s Mike Coppinger broken the location and date news on Monday. Mayweather had recently been in talks to rematch Manny Pacquiao on Netflix. When those negotiations stalled, the exhibition bout against Tyson was back on the table.

Vice Premier Minister of Congo, Mobutu Nzanga Ngbangawe confirmed the date in location via social media.

“Very happy to hear the great news from @MikeCoppinger of @RingMagazine that boxing legends @MikeTyson and @FloydMayweather will face off in an exhibition match on April 25th in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, honoring the legacy of the Rumble in the Jungle 52 years later,” he wrote on X.
