‘Poatan’ next? UFC legend Jon Jones confirms he’s ‘in negotiations’ for UFC White House card: ‘I cannot wait to represent America’

We are still a little ways away from a Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira superfight being signed for UFC’s upcoming White House event this coming June, but things are finally moving in the right direction.

On Friday, UFC CEO Dana White announced that Pereira was vacating his UFC light heavyweight title, indicating a long-awaited move to the heavyweight division. On Saturday, Ariel Helwani reported that UFC officials have had talks with Jones and Pereira about a potential fight on the White House Lawn. UFC already has a backup plan in place, but it was the first time in a long time fight fans felt good about a Jones comeback.

Remember, the UFC legend retired back in June 2025 and then came back just weeks later to a slew of ridicule from fight fans and backlash from the promotion itself.

On Saturday evening, Jones stoked the White House flames during a meet and greet at The Brook Casino in New Hampshire. The former UFC champion confirmed that he is in fact “in negotiations” right now with UFC to compete this June in Washington D.C. Jones didn’t say much more than that, but that’s really all fight fans wanted to hear (outside of a potential fight announcement next week).

Check it out below:

“I’m in negotiations with the UFC about this White House [fight] as well,“ said Jones. “I’m a very proud American, and I cannot wait to represent one more time.”
