Polaris To Face BJJ Stars In Next Cross-Promotional Squads Match

Published:

Polaris are continuing their exciting cross-promotional efforts even further now, as they’ve just announced that they will be taking on BJJ Stars next. It’s a huge move that brings together the premier promotions in their respective markets, with Polaris dominating Europe and BJJ Stars being the biggest in Brazil. Last time around Polaris faced a team put together by Who’s Number One and they came out on top, winning a tough battle 14-12. This next battle against BJJ Stars will take place under the same ruleset as that, using the unique Polaris Squads format that they have perfected in recent years.

It’s a unique approach to team grappling that provides dozens of entertaining matches over the course of more than an hour. Polaris first devised the ruleset a few years ago and it’s undergone a few tweaks and changes since then, as they’ve been searching for the most exciting way to run team matchups. After finally settling on the format, they ran an epic Intercontinental Championship throughout 2025 that resulted in Team Europe winning the title at Polaris 34. That team, with a few small changes, has since become the Polaris team and after beating the Who’s Number One team it looks like they’re going even further afield for a new challenge.

BJJ Stars has been operating for more than 6 years now and although they started out strong to begin with, they’ve grown an incredible amount and are now Brazil’s biggest show. They have no shortage of top competitors to choose from when building their team,  including the winners of the grand prix tournaments they’ve been staging recently. Pedro Marinho won the absolute grand prix at BJJ Stars 16 and Ruan Alvarenga won their featherweight grand prix at BJJ Stars 17; both just last year. They both seem like pretty safe bets but the promotion might also be able to call on Mica Galvao, who won their middleweight grand prix at BJJ Stars 15.

The full Polaris vs BJJ Stars Squads event will be available to watch on June 6th, 2026 exclusively on FloGrappling, click here to subscribe and watch.
