President Donald Trump calls Joe Rogan

Published:

Despite his ever-present political demands, Donald Trump has strong ties within the world of mixed martial arts and often attends fights when his busy schedule allows. His relationship with the biggest names in the sport continues to grow, and that includes Joe Rogan — of whom he recently shared a UFC-related phone call.

After remaining hesitant with his vote on the US election, Rogan finally decided to side with the Republican Party. Since then, the color commentator has seen his friendship with the president surge to the point where they discussed the upcoming White House card over a phone call.

As the UFC White House event draws closer, fans are beginning to share their wishlists for the highly anticipated fight card. Among those discussing the historic night was Joe Rogan and his guest during a recent episode of his renowned podcast.

The UFC White House is being billed as one of the greatest combat sports events in history. With each new announcement that trickles out about the event, we can almost hear Dana White‘s joy radiating out of our devices, but he’s not the only one proud of the showcase.

During the aforementioned phone call between Donald Trump, Joe Rogan, and JRE podcast guest Jensen Huang,  June 14’s UFC card was a topic of discussion.

“I was shooting arrows in my backyard and randomly get this call from Trump, and he’s hanging out with you.” Rogan reminisced with his Huang.

Jenson Huang then took the reins of the conversation, speaking of Donald Trump’s pride in the upcoming UFC White House card.

“We were talking about you,” Huang told Rogan. “We were talking about the UFC thing he’s going to do in his front yard.”

“And he pulls out, he’s like, ‘Jensen, look at this design.’ He’s so proud of it.”

Fans have had much to say since the UFC White House render was revealed.

“I go, ‘You’re going to have a fight in the front lawn of the White House?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, yeah, you’re going to come. This is going to be awesome.'”

“And he’s showing me his design and how beautiful it is.”

“Somehow, your name comes up. He goes, ‘Do you know Joe?’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’m going to be on his podcast.’ He said, ‘Let’s call him.'”

Rogan found Huang’s story amusing, insisting Donald Trump is still young at heart.

“He’s like a kid,” Rogan said while laughing. “It’s so, he’s like a 79-year-old kid.”

“Yeah, he’s an odd guy. [He’s] just very different, you know, than what you’d expect from him. Very different from what people think of him.”

“And also, [he’s] just very different as a president. A guy who just calls you or texts you out of the blue.”

“When he texts you… With my iPhone, he makes the text go big. ‘USA is respected again.’ All caps and he makes the text enlarge. It’s kind of ridiculous.”

Donald Trump still divides opinions among American citizens, with uncertainty clouding over him regarding the next presidential election.

While the Trump many get to see is brash and outlandish, Jensen Huang insists he is a very different man when spending time with him alone.

“The one on one Trump, president Trump, is very different,” Huang said. “He surprised me.”

“First of all, he’s an incredibly good listener. Almost everything I’ve ever said to him, he’s remembered.”
