Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.

  1. Terence Crawford offered $100 million to end boxing retirement, ‘Bud’ issues ‘Soul’ stealing response: “Bud” is an intense guy, not somebody to joke with.
  2. Justin Gaethje explains Conor McGregor’s path to a UFC White House title shot: ‘McGregor fights whoever he wants’: This is one of those terrible situations where I don’t like it, but I could see it happening.
  3. UFC part ways with UFC 325 cheater after weigh-in fiasco: In my best Jerry Seinfeld voice: “That’s a shame.”

Insomnia

Vinicius Oliveira is extremely happy to be done with his weight cut, which admits was the hardest of his career. Here’s his statement translated via the X video player:

“Hope you guys can hear me, my voice is still a little bad but we managed to beat the weight. It was a difficult night. I think this was one of the heaviest cuts I’ve ever done of my entire career. I’ve decided already I think I can do this cut two more times. I won’t be able to keep myself in this [weight class] if I stay at 84 kilos off [camp], which is difficult for me … I’ll go back home and do the possible to maintain a lower weight … But I’m fine. The weight was beaten. It was a hard night … I saw God calling me this morning.”

And an alternate (probably better) translation via X user @uhvaimorre:

I don’t imagine Rampage Jackson and Khabib Nurmagomedov have a lot in common outside of fighting.

Conor McGregor and RFK Jr. are buddies apparently.

Steve Erceg donning a costume, moving a little closer to his Michael Scott reality.

Robert Whittaker says there’s a strong chance he finally makes the Light Heavyweight move. At this stage of his career, why not?

These punching bag games are tricky. Punching through the bag is important, but don’t do it so much that you hit the machine!

Yuki Yoza sparring footage is high art.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

A UFC drug test might be an issue, but Bilbert Tumenov certainly appears to be a world-class Lightweight.

There are moments where this 4 oz. Muay Thai fight looks more like a DBX scrap.

Tried to run back into the pocket and instead jumped onto a right hand!

Random Land

Do we think this weight lifting feat is real or faked? I’m undecided.
