Shakur Stevenson is not short of options following his sensational victory over Teofimo Lopez.
Stevenson dominated Lopez in New York on Saturday to win the WBO super lightweight world title by unanimous decision at Madison Square Garden.
The 28-year-old has long been linked with a showdown against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, but the Baltimore man’s career is in limbo following a recent arrest.
Stevenson has now targeted a bout with WBC interim super lightweight champion, Isaac Cruz.
‘Pitbull’ pushed Davis close in a narrow unanimous decision loss in 2021 and retained his belt with a majority draw against Lamont Roach in December.
“Pitbull is a guy that’s a name in the sport,” he told Cigar Talk.
“A lot of casual fans like Pitbull.
“They believe that a guy like Pitbull would be the style to do something with me, but [he’s] easy work.”
The Newark man is the reigning WBC lightweight titlist and became a four-division champion with victory over Lopez.

Stevenson called out Conor Benn, who was sat ringside and the pair traded words back-and-forth in a heated exchange in the ring.
Benn plans on returning to welterweight after two fights with Chris Eubank Jr at middleweight.
Stevenson insists he’ll only face the Brit at welterweight if there’s a rehydration clause in place, as there was for Eubank Jr.
“If he’s not going to agree [to a rehydration clause] then we probably don’t fight,” he said in the post-fight press conference.
“He’s just wasting time.
“We’ll see, but I’m a businessman at the end of the day.
“He did a rehydration clause with Chris Eubank.
“Chris Eubank was in the ring half dead.
“Why can’t he do the same thing?”
