Terence Crawford has backed Conor Benn over his decision to leave Eddie Hearn and sign with Dana White.
The fallout continues after Benn switched from Hearn’s Matchroom to White’s Zuffa Boxing in a one-fight deal worth $15m.
Hearn questioned his former fighter’s loyalty after he refused to discuss his decision with him, but Crawford has sided with the 29-year-old.
“He just signed with Zuffa,” Crawford said on the Joe Rogan podcast.
“And a lot of people were saying he was disloyal and Eddie Hearn was loyal to him.
“What are people talking about?
‘It’s just business. It ain’t personal with them I bet.
“Conor Benn did what was best for him and his family.”
Benn was expected to headline Zuffa’s inaugural UK card, but is instead the co-main event to Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov – a Ring-promoted card – against Regis Prograis on April 11 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Hearn continuously pledged his allegiance to Benn when he tested positive for the banned substance Clomiphene prior to a scheduled October 2022 clash with Chris Eubank Jr, which eventually saw him cleared by the National Anti-Doping Panel.
The Matchroom Chairman claimed he gave the Essex man “hundreds of thousands of pounds” when his career was in jeopardy and he was battling a long-drawn-out legal case.
Benn did eventually fight Eubank Jr in two money-spinning showdowns last year, the second of which he won after losing for the first time in his professional career to the Brighton man in April.

Crawford insists Hearn’s grievances with Benn would not have been the same if he wasn’t the financial draw he is.
“Just like the promotional company’s going to do what’s best for them and their business,” the 38-year-old added.
“If a fighter that they sign loses probably two straight, they get to cut them. No questions asked.

“Why? Because now they’re wasting money they feel.
“They don’t care about that person’s family. They don’t care about that person’s relationship with them.”
