The numbers are in! Turns out Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua was NOT the biggest boxing event of 2025

Published:

Some of the biggest names in boxing returned to competition in 2025, including Canelo Alvarez, Oleksandr Usyk, Manny Pacquiao and even Jake Paul. A couple of years ago, they would have run you out of town for including “El Gallo” among that list of all-time greats.

Paul racked up millions of viewers for his sixth-round knockout loss to Anthony Joshua last month in Miami, but still finished second overall behind the Terence Crawford vs. Canelo Alvarez blockbuster back in September. That’s according to Betsson, which did a comprehensive breakdown of last year’s top boxing matchups.

The data is broken down by Searches (S), Attendance (A), Purse (P), and Final Score (FS):

How did they come up with those numbers?

“Search volume, attendance and purse data were collected from Google Keyword Planner, the World Boxing Association website and major sports publications,” according to the report. “These metrics were weighted and indexed to rank the year’s biggest fights from largest to smallest. Where figures were not publicly available, values may be estimates and may not reflect real life.”

Early predictions for biggest fight of 2026? I vote for this.
