Former world champion Duke McKenzie has revealed how he feels a clash between Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley would play out.
Wardley and Dubois are two of the hardest hitting heavyweights in the sport.
‘DDD’ and Wardley had very different years in 2025 with Dubois losing his world title and Wardley gaining one.
Dubois was last in action in July where he was stopped by two-time undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
He lost his IBF world championship.
McKenzie spoke to Boxing Social about the potential fight.
“I’d probably pay my own money to go and watch that one.
“That’s as good as it gets.
“In world boxing right now, that’s as good it gets.
“Daniel would need a couple of warm-up fights.
“Not one, he need ones or two if he’s going to take on Fabio Wardley.”
Wardley fought twice in the last 12 months.

First in June, where he headlined at his boyhood football club’s home stadium, Ipswich Town’s, Portman Road.
He was heavily behind on the cards to Australian prospect Justis Huni before pulling off a knockout of the year contender in the 10th round.

He then took on Joseph Parker in a fight very few expected to see considering Parker’s position in the world title frame and Wardley’s lack of experience.
Parker went into the fight as WBO interim world champion and was just weeks away from a fight with Usyk being made or being upgraded to full world champion.
Wardley pulled off the upset and stopped the New Zealander in the 11th round.

A couple of weeks later, Wardley was upgraded to full WBO world champion.
McKenzie went on to explain just how dangerous the man from Ipswich could be to ‘DDD’.
“Fabio doesn’t play, he’s a wrecking machine right now. Anybody that gets in his way, they’ve got to be ready.
“You can’t get in there and half step with the kid cause like I say, he’s an absolute wrecking machine.
“Daniel is going to need a comeback fight to get his confidence back, then another fight to get some rounds under his belt, then he can start talking about Fabio Wardley cause Fabio is a world champion in his own right, he’s not someone to have a comeback fight with.”

Dubois’ manager, Sam Jones has revealed numerous times they are not interested in a warm-up fight and are planning on getting back into a fight at the top level.
The two names Jones continues to mention for the Londoner’s return are Wardley and WBC interim champion Agit Kabayel.
