Tyson Fury return confirmed by Netflix – Turki Alalshikh confirms show promotion

Published:

Tyson Fury is back. “The Gypsy King” has dazzled throughout his career, but has also been known for his consistent retiring and then unretiring. Soon after his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, Fury announced his retirement once again, before he recently announced his intention to return to professional boxing in 2026.

His comeback has now moved a significant step forward, with Netflix announcing Fury will face the giant Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11, live on Netflix at a venue to be confirmed in the United Kingdom.

Tyson Fury announces his return to boxing

Announcing his return on social media, Fury said:

“2026 is that year Return of the mac. Been away for a while but I’m back now, 37 years old and still punching,” Fury wrote. “Nothing better to do than punch men in the face & get paid for it.”

His return would not have surprised many, as Tyson Fury had done this multiple times previously. A fully dialled-in “Gypsy King” would be a threat to the rest of the heavyweight division.

Turki Alalshikh confirms promotional situation

As announced by the relevant parties, including Turki Alalshikh, the card will be shown at no extra cost to Netflix’s 325 million+ subscribers. The card will also be presented by The Ring, with Turki Alalshikh announcing this via his X account:

“This is the second fight between Netflix and the Ring … it is only the beginning. Wait for the big surprise soon.”

It remains to be seen what involvement Queensberry will have in this card, but it’s a big coup to get Fury’s comeback fight, showing the intent of The Ring and His Excellency to remain at the forefront of boxing.

Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2, 19 KOs) has shown power in his victories, but Fury should have too much for him, even after 16 months out of the ring.

How much does Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) have left? Can he win another world title, or has the Gypsy King been dethroned?
