With his impressive win over Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez at UFC Houston, Sean Strickland is right back in the middleweight contender’s circle. But if the UFC expects him to face off against one of the many international 185ers on their home turf, they can forget it.
In an interview with McKenzie Pavacich following the fight, “Tarzan” made it clear his days of fighting outside of the United States are over, even if it’s against middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev.
“Me and him are the fight to make, you know?” Strickland said. “I feel like we need to bring the belt back to America. We need a real f–king American to represent this organization.”
“I’m not leaving this country ever again,” he added. “I’m an American. I’m not leaving. I’m not traveling. I’m not vacationing. I’m gonna die on this f–king soil. So it will be in America. Where ever the f–k that is, I’ll be there.”
“We’ll see if Paramount’s going to call Dana and get me cancelled,” Strickland said. “Hey, I didn’t make Star Trek and Halo, you guys ruined that s–t.”
