Xander Zayas and Abass Baraou vie for the chance to become unified super welterweight world champion this Saturday in Puerto Rico.
Zayas put his WBO title on the line, while Baraou’s WBA belt is at stake at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rican native, Zayas (22-0, 13 KOs) has home advantage heading into the most significant fight of his career to date.
The unbeaten 23-year-old won the vacant belt last time out, securing a unanimous decision win over Jorge Garcia Perez in July in New York and unifies in his first defence.
Baraou (17-1, 9 KOs) has won eight on the spin since a split decision loss to Jack Culcay and claimed the belt he defends this Saturday in an upset victory over Yoenis Tellez in August.
The winner could unify with the victor of Bakhram Murtazaliev vs Josh Kelly, who fight for the IBF belt earlier on Saturday.
